Max Muscle Activation

Max's unique motion can provide greater activation of the upper body muscles than an elliptical.‡

I purchased the m8 model because i always want the best for me and i did not want any excuses for no reaching my fitness goal. To start off i was extremely fit in my late 20's, religiously i picked up weights and did cardio such as running on treadmill and out side running. I suffered from a lower b...

great for space conscious home gyms

About 9 years ago I purchased a light-commercial rear-drive elliptical from another well known company. I have used it almost daily since. It was built very well, still worked great, but I just wanted something new that better fit my training, and also was a smaller footprint in my home gym. In t...

Started using this Max 8 thing 4 weeks ago after bring down from a back injury for months. I expected good hard cardio, surprised by building core strength and arms building back up. I am 56 and hit this thing now 5 days a week for 30 minutes. Worth every penny if you use it regularly.

I am a gym rat. We have a pretty extensive home gym. Typically, at the gym i would use the stair mill after an hour and 45 minutes of lifting. I hate the treadmill, bike and elliptical....the stair mill is the only piece of cardio I found truly challenging. I wanted to add a great piece of cardio to my home gym, so we decided on the max 8 . I use it 6 times a week for 30 minutes . WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!! I absolutely love this machine. I don't use the HIIT 14 minute workouts. I stick with a 30 minute steady state workout at level 10. It is extremely challenging. I am so happy with this machine !

Bought Max Trainer M8 3 months ago! Display Is Saying Update

I would never spend this kind of money for a product with issues and has been since discontinued. After owning this machine and over $2000 spent. The display is saying Update display after 3 months and only 2 payments made! You can still use the machine but there is no to make it harder to pedal. It's on the easiest mode.

I prefer to run outside for my cardio but live in Texas and sometimes its just too hot. This feels the gap nicely. After 15 minutes I'm sweating like I've been out running in the Texas heat. Since I'm getting older, I'm going to gradually transition to using the trainer only. I have the model that came with the Galaxy tablet and the workout channels are awesome.

Happy with the M8 and my fitness results.

I love my M8 and highly recommend! I bought this as an upgrade from my M5 which was approaching five years old (early model) and I had been having too many problems with over the course of it's life. I wanted newer and better technology (and still felt loyal to the Bowflex brand), so I took a chance and bought the M8 and I'm glad I did. The M8 just seems like a better machine and my workouts (Fat Burn 30min 3X per week) are more fluid, comfortable and effective than I've ever known. I did have the main console go out from a bad firmware "update" but Bowflex helped me out with a new one quickly and easily. I will say that initial assembly of the machine was a chore. Set aside at least four hours. But this is expected. My biggest complaint is what Bowflex charges for their floor mat. $99! Why???

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Does it come already assembled or do I have to put it together myself?

Asked by larah
Verified Reply - ShawnaThe Bowflex M8 does require assembly. The assembly manual that comes with the machine provides clear instructions on how to assemble the machine. We also have an assembly video for the M8 that works very well in conjunction with the assembly manual. To view the assembly video, please visit https://www.bowflex.com/getting-started.html. Can the built-in heart rate monitor of the Apple Watch 4 be used with the M8 instead of the hand grips or arm band?

It will sync with any generic Bluetooth heart rate monitor, typically the branded ones such as Apple and Garmin are not compatible. We do offer a compatible heart rate monitor on our website though, you can find that here: https://www.bowflex.com/accessories/bowflex-heart-rate-armband/8020433.html. - Bowflex TeamWas this answer helpful to you
